Tim Finnegan

Tim has performed in over 20 BUA shows since his debut performance in the 1996 production of The Heidi Chronicles for which he was recognized at the ARTVOICE Artie Awards as Outstanding New Performer. That year, he also played Cal in Andre's Mother for BUA's PrideFest. He was thrilled to then be asked to join the cast of Jeffrey. Tim has also been seen in productions of Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You (Aloysius), Message to Michael (Ron) and A Night in the Blue Moon (Arthur), another PrideFest production.

In 1999, Tim became a Managing Member of the company and continued on the now permanent BUA stage in As Bees in Honey Drown (Mike Stabinski), Dracula (Dr. Seward) and Beautiful Thing (Tony). BUA audiences got to see much more of Tim in the summer of 2000 when he and his six Party(Kevin) castmates appeared naked. Next up was The Bad Seed and an Artie nomination for Outstanding Supporting Acto! r in a Play and the following season a role in the Artie Award winning The Laramie Project. Other recent works include Avow(Dr. Tom Ahearn), P.S. Your Cat is Dead(Jimmy Zoole), The Boys in the Band(Hank), End of the World Party(Roger) and Godspell(Judas). His most recent project was his directorial debut of Christmas Confessions

Tim has also appeared on several other Buffalo and West! ern New York stages - in Three Sisters at Irish Classical Theater, Hello Dolly at the Lancaster Opera House, Everybody's Ruby at Ujima Company and many productions at Theatre of Youth.

A Yuletide Celebration was Tim's first "out-of-state" gig. The production is an annual event with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. He spent a few months there at the Centre Theater working with puppets up to 20 feet tall.

In 1998, Tim performed at the Toronto Fringe Festival in two works by Buffalo playwright David Butler - Coming Out of the Car and Last Knight of Fondele Park.

At Shea's Buffalo, in the Spring of 2001, he played the drunken ex-boyfriend of the bride who crashes the reception at Tony & Tina's Wedding.

Tim received his theatrical training on the stage rather than in the classroom. By the time he graduated St. Binaventure University with a bachelor's degree in Communications and Political Science in 1985, Tim counted among his credits the roles of R.P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, John Merrick in The Elephant Man, Danny Zuko in Grease and Jesus in Godspell.
